Peter Jacques Band – The Very Best Of (2007)

delantera-peter-jacques-bandThe Very Best Of (2007)
Right at the end of the golden era of DISCO (1979) two Italian producers: Guadeloupe born French-Italian businessman Jacques Fred Petrus & and songwriter and producer Mauro Malavasi created an Italian-American Disco band “PETER JACQUES BAND”. They released three albums all reaching minor success but most of all opened up the US market for Italian made disco. The albums were, “Fire Night Dance in 1979, “Welcome Back” in 1980 and “Dancing in the Street” in 1985.
Although fantastic, this is not the Duo’s first project. Their first common studio project was in 1978 with a disco group called Macho, featuring Italian Marzio Vincenti as lead singer. The band experienced one hit song in the United States, the 17:42 long disco oriented cover of I’m a Man, which was originally done by Spencer Davis Group in 1967. Another project comes later: Revanche: (Music Man, Revenge & You Get High in N.Y.C.); Change (A Lover’s Holiday & “The Glow of Love); The B.B. & Q. Band (On the Beat).
Unfortunately, Jacques Fred Petrus was murdered at his home in Guadeloupe by an unknown assassin in 1986. Mauro Malavasi is still in the business now super viewing various artistic productions.
This “very best” CD gets together (with a brillant mastered sound) most of the released singles from this 3 LP. Remix); and from 1985 (Dancing in the streets): Drives me crazy, this night, all rights let’s go & going dancing down the streets.
